Sorry guys, this blog isn't exactly posted specifically for NCIS or Michael Weatherly. In light of recent events (Memorial Day), I would like each and every one of you to take a moment and remember our fallen heroes. Because, ladies and gents, that is what this holiday is all about.
The title of this "blog" is "What it means", and I'm sure all of you are asking "why"? Every time you sit down in a bar and drink a beer, change your hair color, pierce your lip, buy a fantastic new dress to wear to the club that weekend...think about my brothers and sisters in arms across the Atlantic, fighting for their lives, and wishing that they could do what you are doing right now. Six or seven months at a time, in a combat environment, and all they want is to see their families. Hug their new born sons and daughters, and drink a nice, cold beer in their back yards. Yes, they chose this lavish (and I say this with all the sarcasm I hold in my body. Trust me, it's a lot!) — 'lifestyle.' They did it so YOU wouldn't have to.
Give thanks to those who are willing to give up so much. And Semper Fidelis my brothers and sisters who read this blog, and thank you to all those others who willingly give so much for those of us that give so little.
